Apoptosis
Where some endings are not just endings, they are the beginnings of something which can shape, mold to a new thing, a new version.
While studying about apoptosis, I came across something which has a deep meaning in life too, which connects science to life.
Inside our bodies, millions of cells make a quiet, conscious decision to end themselves, not just because they are weak, but because they care about the whole system. They gently gather their faults, pack their damage, and leave without chaos. No drama, No noise, No chaos, Nothing. Just a calm, respectful exit for the greater future, scope and for healthy environment of the system.
This thoughtful ending is called programmed cell death, and surprisingly, it feels like what in a real life happens.
We as a human do the same.
We destroy our habits that exhaust our energy.
We detach from the thoughts that hold us.
We move away from relationships that control us.
We distance ourselves from such environment that break ourselves.
We shed old versions of ourselves, like we shed our old dead skin as some other animals example snakes shed their skin too, that no longer match who we are becoming. And eventually, we realize that letting go is not a loss, it is a powerful act of healing only. We heal when we get rid of something that exhaust us, hold us, control us, or break us...
Apoptosis quietly reminds us of the same.
“You are allowed to release anything that no longer helps you grow.”
As today I am and everyone is standing at the closing chapter of 2025, many of us hold memories of challenges, lessons, victories, heartbreaks, healing, and growth. This year may have stretched us, tested us, and changed us in ways we didn’t expect. But like those cells, we too can gently say goodbye to the parts of this year that hurt, limited, destroyed or exhausted us. Sometimes, acceptance and gratitude are enough to say bye and close the chapter.
As 2026 will begin, we step forward lighter, wiser, and stronger. Maybe this is our personal “apoptosis phase” not about destruction, but renewal. Not about endings, but about beginning again with clarity and courage. Because growth is not always about adding more. Sometimes it is about removing what no longer belong to us.
Sometimes growth is letting go and choosing peace. Or I can say sometimes growth looks like apoptosis, a quiet ending that creates room for something new, beautifull, cherishable.. etc... that u could never imagined off.
So here, letting go 2025 for teaching us.
And welcoming 2026, a brighter, braver & bold version of us.
